Bodegas Fuenmayor is located in the heart of the Rioja Region, in the area from which it too its name.

The winery produces only one reserva red wine called Nocedal Reserva; it is single variety grape wine elaborated with Tempranillo grapes.

The winery is modern undertakings which resulted from the incentive of a group of businessmen related to the wine production sector which combine know how and experience in the industry.

They are all related to the wine production activities, either as wine manufactures or as small producers or distributors.

Its special philosophy focus mainly in the activities related to wine ageing and to a lesser extent to the development of its own vineyard.

Fuenmayor’s wine production is characterized by its natural selection and treatment of wines.

In connection with the vineyards, the group owns a few vineyards, thus almost the totality of grapes is purchased from diverse wine producers, whose execution is monitored by the winery technicians.

The grapes come from two different origins: Autol, in the Rioja Baja Region, which provides concentration and structure to the wines in conjunction with Fuenmayor surroundings in the Rioja Alta region which are synonym to delicacy and elegance.

The winery applies a different work concept: the most important one: flexibility.

Neither not having its own vineyard nor complicated technical structures, allows the winery to objectively judge the quality of the harvest and thus decide if the raw material is within the standards to produce Nocedal Reserva.

Consequently, the first production of Nocedal Reserva was in 1999 and there was also a production in 2002; however the winery did not produce its wines in 2000.

Nowadays, its production reaches 200.000 bottles, from which 60% is assigned to the domestic market consumption and the remaining bottles are exported to different countries.

Its wines cab be found in different European countries such as: Switzerland, Belgium and Germany as well as in other continents like USA and Asia.

At Alimentaria 2008 the winery will introduce its new Nocedal Reserva 2001 wine which has been aged in French and American oak barrel during 18 months and subsequently tuned once bottled.
