Founded and established in 1909 in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil, Indústria de Aguardente Tatuzinho through its semi-crafted distillation process, arose the cachaça brand, which though the following decades, it would became one of more consumed cachaças of Brazil.

In 1970 the company joins to the merged brand 3 Fazendas, resulting in the appearance of IRB - Indústrias Reunidas de Bebidas Tatuzinho 3 Fazendas Ltda. in Rio Claro, 165 km from São Paulo, Brazil.

Completing that merge the Velho Barreiro brand arises, allowing the penetration of cachaça all over the country regions during that period, a few companies were ready to face the challenge of dominating the national territory.

These days, the Velho Barreiro Cachaça is still stored in wood barrels (Jequitibá Rosa), with approximately 1 million liters capacity each.

European origin equipments guarantees to the industrial process, the high cleaning and sterilization capacity of million liters per year, also regulated by government official agencies and the Ministries of Agriculture and Health exigencies that control the production process.

IRB appears among the main producers of cachaça in Brazil, present in more than 20 countries of the five continents, including the United States and Japan, bringing a historical legacy, composed of culture and tradition, of a young country of the New World called Brazil.
