Extenda in Feria Internacional Mueble Madrid 2008
16 Furniture Companies from Andalusia will exhibit their design at FIMM 08 the International Furniture Fair held in Madrid.
The Secretary of Tourism, Commerce and Sports has organized the presence of Andalusia companies in the fair held from 22 to 27 April 2008. 16 companies will present their designs at the FIMM 08 the international Furniture Fair hel in Madrid in the framework of activities developed by the Andalusia Exterior Promoting Agency – Extenda, working together with the Secretary of Tourism, Commerce and Sports. Said event will be celebrated from April 22nd to 27th and it foresees the participation of more than 50.000 professionals from all over the world. Andalusia was in 2007 the fourth Spanish Autonomouus Community exporting furniture. Last year sales from the sector in foreign countries reached 116.87 million euros, a 30% increase compared to 2007. At present, there exist more than 2.000 furniture manufacturers that represent a 16.7% of the total number of companies at national level. These companies are mainly located in Lucena, Córdoba) and Mancha Real (Jaén), locations with a huge exporting potential. Other areas, such as Seville or Malaga, expand with the production of high quality or artisan pieces of furniture like the cordobán or forged iron.
