Fincibec spa in Cersaie 2007
FINCIBEC is one of the biggest and most important industrial groups in Sassuolo, a key contributor to the latter's reputation as the world leader in ceramic floor and wall tiles. Founded in 1960, it achieved immediate success with an innovative line of fire-clay tiles. Just ten years later it was already renowned as a cutting-edge enterprise capable of producing single-fire, frost-proof, glazed tiles. The original Cibec brand name became MONOCIBEC and new plants in both the Modena and Reggio Emilia areas were added to the original site. In 1981 new production facilities were inaugurated in Casiglie where glazed fire-clay tiles are now made. The year 1992 saw the take-over of the Solignano-based Ceramica Ottantaquattro (now NAXOS), a specialist in white body wall tiles and, in 1994, a company in Roteglia (now CENTURY, founded in 1999) for production of the latest generation of fine fireclay tiles. The evolution of the group was completed in 1997 with the founding of FINCIBEC, set up to handle financial and commercial strategies on global markets. The three FINCIBEC production facilities provide 200.000 m2 of floor space and employ 518 people. Eleven continuous-cycle kilns ensure an annual output of about 8,000,000 m2 supplying customers with over 2,000 different types of fine fireclay tile, glazed fire-clay tile and monoporosa white body wall tile. Customers can count on a comprehensive range of products, for every area of architecture from contemporary construction to renovation, in a wide range of sizes from 15x15 to 60x60 cm.
