Alimentaria 2006 made 7,000 m2 of its exhibition area available in order to house an exceptional fun-filled and educational offer. Conferences, presentations, demonstrations, forums, exhibitions... To the multiple activities offered by the exhibitors, the organisers of the fair, once again this year added the most diverse reinvigoration, research and innovation events. All for the purpose of making Alimentaria one of the most important food exhibitions in the world.
The VI International Food Forum and the VI International Conference on the Mediterranean Diet, two events that bring Alimentaria closer to concerns regarding consumer habits and nutrition, as well as the capacity to adopt a healthy diet. The area of innovation concentrates, in part, on the 2000 m2 of the Innoval exhibition where the latest product launches of the sector are presented and on consolidating its position as an indisputable point of reference of R&D&i. Furthermore innovation is rewarded through the Innoval and Best Pack Awards.
BCN Vanguard gathers professionals as important as Ferran Adrià, Carme Ruscadella, Carles Gaig, Juan Mari Arzak or Martín Berasategui who will keep the burners lit in all 10 “for all to see” kitchens of BCN Vanguard. An ideal context for celebrating the finale of the 1st Contest for Chef of the Year and the II National Contest of Hotel and Culinary Schools. Vinorum gives the opportunity to enjoy each of the inexorable nuances of the world of wine by offering an excellent program of thematic tastings and a broad range of presentations made by prestigious and expert professionals.
Spain of the Oils convenes experts of this liquid gold, a wealth of the Spanish territory, which takes advantage of the framework of Alimentaria to promote its excellent qualities through tastings combined with closely associated products. The oldest member, among the events of Alimentaria, the Exhibition, “Spain, the Country of 100 cheeses” puts within reach an exhibition made up of 250 exquisite pieces in order to acquire a true cheese culture.
A tasting of oysters and mussels –organised by ONPROYA (The National Organisation of Oysters and Mussels Producers)-, even demonstrations of fish cuts –organised by the Fish and Seafood Retailers Guild of Barcelona– or trout tastings with the most diverse presentations are examples of some of the proposals organised by the FROM on the Days of Interfishing.
A place to relax conceived as a meeting place for visitors and exhibitors in order to experience a select and varied menu of coffees in good company is known by the name of Coffee Time at Alimentaria,
Furthermore, Alimentaria has reserved space for the exhibitions “Markets of the 21st Century”, “The stars with the most drive” in Mundidulce organised by the FEAD and “Two centuries of university and business in the world of food and agriculture” organised by the Triptolemos Foundation.
