The Restaurant Show, running from 18 – 20 September 2006 at Olympia in London, is the only show dedicated to the restaurant trade with specially created food and drink areas showcasing the world’s best produce and brands. This year The Restaurant Show’s dedicated drinks features offer previews, hints and tips for restaurants and establishments looking to make the most out of the category:

The Drinks Academy
The Drinks Academy is dedicated to helping the trade increase profitability through drinks.  In the dedicated feature area restaurateurs can learn about the importance of the range of drinks they offer customers and the flexibility that different brands offer.  The area also shares information on the origins and traditions of particular drinks and drinking customs.  Visitors to the area can try various drinks to better understand food and drink matching. The Academy is sponsored by Coca Cola, who prove that there is profit to be made in the sale of non-alcoholic drinks.  The company will showcase its Schweppes range of adult soft drinks and give lessons on the art of mixing non-alcoholic cocktails.
CLASS Bar
The CLASS bar provides visitors to The Restaurant Show with the ultimate networking venue.  This is the ideal place to pick up tips and advice from some of the biggest names in the drinks industry, while witnessing the expertise of some of the best bartenders in the world in a series of live competitions. The expert speakers include Havana Club, who will give advice on the versatility of rum and share a variety of serving suggestions and tips. Matthew Clark will also showcase the Icon* range, which was built around premium spirit brands that are considered truly iconic.  Now it is to be joined by a range of premium, beers, lagers and ciders that have been produced in their country of origin. The range includes Sleemans Honey, Goose Island Honkers, Tsing Tao, King Cobra, Klug, Leffe, Hoegaarden & Belle-vue fruit beers, to name a few. As part of the line up at the CLASS Bar, Marc Stroobandt, a Belgium Beer Sommelier who will be talking through a number of the beers within the Icon range and offering food and beer matching tips.
The Vincent Square Bar
The Vincent Square Bar, run by Pitcher & Piano, will provide an exclusive drinks and reception area for diners at the Westminster Kingsway College Restaurant.  The bar is sponsored by Hardy’s and Coca Cola, in association with The Training School.
With a range of premium aperitifs, digestifs, wines, champagnes, cocktails and soft drinks, the Bar is the ideal place to relax with a drink before or after dining.
