Bread & Butter Berlin cancelled
The market has obviously decided to focus its activities on one event – 80% of the total exhibition space in Barcelona is booked.
Karl-Heinz Müller: “By focussing on one strong event, clearness and transparency can be granted to the industry and trade. BBBarcelona has become accepted as the leading platform for the young and contemporary market segments. This step generates even more potentials. We expect a growing number of exhibitors and visitors in Barcelona because now a clear decision for one event can be made.” Brands, labels and designers are vastly concentrating their marketing investments on international events. German retailers do not only focus on national tradeshows, either – they are moving increasingly towards exhibitions in the rest of Europe. In spite of huge investments aiming at visitors and exhibitors as well as specific marketing and communication measures, BREAD & BUTTER BERLIN has not met with sufficient response. According to the number of registrations by now, it is not possible to guarantee a high-quality event. Karl-Heinz Müller: “We respect our partners’ objects and requirements, both in industry and trade. It would be counterproductive, if we organized the event ignoring the current situation.” After a meeting of the associates on Monday, the BREAD & butter GmbH therefore reached the decision to cancel BREAD & BUTTER BERLIN (January 26th – 28th, 2007). As announced, BREAD & BUTTER BARCELONA is going to take place from the 17th to the 19th of January, 2007. All activities will still be directed by the BREAD & butter – HEADQUARTERS in Berlin.
