Düsseldorf pulls in the Crowds
Positive Signals for the Premiere of BODY LOOK on the Rhine
Already at this early stage in mid-May exhibition space at the first BODY LOOK with bodytex to be held in the regional capital of North Rhine-Westphalia is fully booked up. This confirms the appeal of CPD, which will run concurrently with BODY LOOK at Düsseldorf’s exhibition centre. Numerous firms including many new exhibitors will be taking advantage of Germany’s only international trade fair for Body, Beach and Legwear plus Bodywear Fabrics & Findings – as a platform to launch them into the 2007 season. Several companies have highlighted the importance of the fair by booking larger stands this time. An extensive supporting programme featuring an Innovation Forum, seminars, the Trend.Forum and Trend Shows as well as the Gala Fashion Show celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Maryan Beachwear
Group will offer the sector a great platform for gathering information and exchanging ideas. 23 to 25 July 2006 will see Hall 16 of Düsseldorf’s exhibition centre host the Rhineland premiere of BODY LOOK with bodytex. Commenting on the state of play so far Frank Hartmann, CEO at the IGEDO Company, said: “Registrations have already exceeded our expectations even at this stage. This is due, on the one hand, to the international pull of the location of Düsseldorf and, on the other, due to the magnetic appeal of CPD which we shall be holding concurrently with BODY LOOK as part of IGEDO’s DÜSSELDORF FASHION FAIRS”. Already at this early stage in mid-May project management has reported that virtually all available exhibition space has been booked up for the BODY LOOK with bodytex fair strategically located between the CPD segment White & Night in Hall 15 and the Showcenter in Hall 17. “Already at this stage we anticipate being able to post significant increases in the international input of the fair bringing us that much closer to our goal of making BODY LOOK the leading platform for the northern and eastern European body, beach and hosiery market,” forecasts Sabine Schommer, Project Manager of the trade fair. An international touch is provided, for instance, by new exhibitors like: Avalon, Blu-ei with Arianne and Femilet, CCLC with Nina Ricci and Millesia, Christies, Donna Karan, Eva Gati, Janet Reger, Jolidon, Manuel Canovas, Mei Doo by Kimono, Paladini, Pluto, Refec, Skiny, Spoylt and Wadima Lidia. Of those exhibitors regularly attending BODY LOOK, including all key names in the German-speaking area, many have underlined the importance of the fair by booking significantly larger stands. For instance, Triumph/HOM will be awaiting its customers this time on an approx. 40% larger stand. “And the fact that even more firms are bringing management to the fair than before demonstrates the importance the exhibitors at BODY LOOK with bodytex attach to Düsseldorf,” adds Frank Hartmann. Beyond presenting their innovations for the 2007 Spring/Summer season some manufacturers are also using BODY LOOK with bodytex for special events. The Maryan Beachwear Group, for instance, will be hosting a gala fashion show to mark the company’s 30th anniversary. This family firm from the Upper Rhine looks back on long corporate history and has developed over the years into a key specialist in high-quality beach and swimwear. Under the creative leadership of Maryan Mehlhorn the firm produces four collections a year that boast trendy design and first-class fit. Information & Glamour As in the past, information for the retail trade will be a top priority at BODY LOOK with bodytex. Kicking off the extensive supporting programme on Saturday, 22 July 2006 will be the Innovation Forum focusing on the topic of “Design muss Sein” (Design is a Must). Visual trend information is offered at the Trend.Forum as well as in the Beach and Bodywear Shows presented on the catwalk twice daily in Hall 16. Workshops featuring hands-on topics like “Gift Wrapping Made Easy” headed by expert Ines Franz will complement the range of events here. Mrs Franz welcomes interested visitors to attend her free workshop in the Communication Area. Advance registration will not be necessary. Helping you to cool off from the hustle and bustle of the fair Sabine Schommer has a special highlight in store: “In the outdoor area in front of Hall 16 an open-air swimming pool will be set up with all the “trimmings” – i.e. pool, lawn, loungers, swimsuit hire, changing rooms, a bar and free cocktails.” And there is no need to worry about your appearance being “shaken up” by all this as a make-up artist and hairstylist will be on hand to recreate your look after your dip. In the hall itself is another highlight – a meet & greet session organised by the young Austrian underwear label with their testimonial celebrity Til Schweiger on Sunday at the Skiny stand in Hall 16. There will also be plenty of opportunities for exchanging ideas – at events like the get-together after the Innovation Forum, to be held at the Malkasten Artists’ Association, and at the BODY LOOK Party which the IGEDO Company will be hosting on Monday on a boat trip down the Rhine. The IGEDO Company has put together various packages with local tour operators including travel and accommodation. If you have not made any travel arrangements for your visit to Düsseldorf yet you can find a wide range of travel and hotel packages at www.body-look.com.
