Düsseldorf taking also the lead in menswear
HMD – Herrenmode Düsseldorf running parallel with CPD from 23 to 25 July 2006New chance for men’s fashion in Germany.
The repositioning of men’s fashion with its own platform HMD for menswear running parallel with CPD DÜSSELDORF has set signals and encouraged the industry to react. For menswear Düsseldorf is the only trade fair location in Germany that attracts visitors internationally. After the immediate registrations of the companies Brühl, Gustav Digel, Ferkinghoff or Einhorn following the Düsseldorf-based meeting with renowned suppliers for men’s fashions as well as association representatives in April, the concept regarding the HMD is met with great approval.
Thus, the trouser specialists Gardeur and MAC have once again come to the fair grounds to seize the opportunity to address providers of product lines and international export customers. HMD exhibiting brands like Belika from Denmark, Aeffe Uomo from Italy, Torras from Spain or Ragman from Switzerland are met with approval in the sectors of ready-to-wear clothing and articles.
Well-known suppliers from the menswear industry of CPD from the last season like Alberto, Allsize, Breidhof, Enzo Lorenzo, Hatico, Haupt, Jacques Britt, King’s Road, Meyer-Hosen, Mode Monte Carlo, Navigare or Seidensticker can be found in halls 1 and 2 on the platform HMD, which is based on the compartmentalisation of individual product lines. Important national and international business contacts were made in Düsseldorf by ’Classico Italia’, an association of top Italian suppliers of menswear, for the second time at the January event of CPD. Expansion efforts towards Northern and Eastern Europe in particular are the focus of interest. Previous successes have contributed to the decision to participate in HMD. The association is planning to no longer position itself in the separate pavilion of the inner grounds, but in the modern ambiance of hall 2. Hall layout With its separate entrance and with a hall layout based on genres and the individual products offered, the platform for menswear attracts specialist retailers and providers of product lines to the southern part of the Düsseldorf fair grounds. There are attractive concept stands for cost-efficient opportunities to participate with an open layout of the stands, which offers manifold possibilities to individually present a company’s own corporate identity. Admission to CPD, Body Look and Global Fashion and vice versa is free for each HMD visitor so that an overview of the complete range offered by IGEDO MODEMESSEN DÜSSELDORF may be gained and synergy effects may be utilised. A special shuttle bus service operating in the inner grounds links HMD with the Northern Entrance. The adjacent CCD Süd section is in perfect conformity with the structure of halls 1 and 2 providing ideal space for workshops, seminars as well as the segment-specific Order Info offered by TextilWirtschaft. Further trend information is provided by the daily HMD show in the Hall of Design, the large catwalk of hall 17. The meeting point for industry insiders is the daily Afterwork Party in the bar area of HMD. It is due to HMD DÜSSELDORF that the IGEDO Company fulfils its function as intermediary and driving force to represent the market and to meet the industry’s requirements. A foundation has been laid, and the platform for menswear can continuously develop further step by step at the same time as the industry.
