Making business processes more efficient: From 15 to 21 March, CeBIT 2007 will be offering a comprehensive overview of the new tools for developing new business opportunities and making processes more efficient. In the coming year, the display category created specifically for this purpose, 'Business Processes' (Halls 1 and 3 to 8), will focus in particular on current topics such as enterprise content management (ECM), service-oriented architectures (SOA), virtualization, Linux/Open Source, customer relationship management (CRM) and Auto ID/RFID. Turning chaos into order: The increasing flood of information has led to a continual growth in demand for solutions and best-practice examples in the field of enterprise content management (ECM). Following on from this, technologies that record, manage, distribute and store information and thereby support business processes will be a key topic at next year's event. This display category in Halls 1 and 3 will center around topic-specific special events that address practical information and document management - such as the DMS Forum, Business Intelligence (BI) Forum and Enterprise Information Integration Forum (EII). Innovation for business and IT: 'SOA' is the new buzzword for managers and IT decision-makers. The successful introduction and management of a service-oriented architecture enables a company's business processes and IT infrastructure to be synchronized so that the company can react quickly and cost-efficiently to changing requirements in its field of business. This hot topic will be covered in depth at CeBIT 2007, in the newly created display category 'SOA World' in Hall 4. A practical congress forum and accompanying specialist trade fair with leading providers of SOA products and services will illustrate how existing IT systems can be integrated using an SOA infrastructure to safeguard existing IT investment and how SOA-based IT landscapes can be efficiently managed and controlled. The providers of new SOA services and solutions (which cover everything from consulting and definition to implementation and control) include SAP and Software AG. Optimized IT structures: Virtual infrastructure solutions help to simplify IT, optimize use of the server system infrastructure, improve flexibility and thereby reduce the company's IT costs. No wonder 'virtualization' is set to become such an exciting topic at the next CeBIT. In the customer's interest: In 2007, CeBIT is responding to the growing significance of CRM (customer relationship management) for the first time by staging a dedicated topic area in Hall 4. The central meeting point is the newly created 'CRM Arena' in which all aspects of IT-supported customer management will be discussed and presented by market-leading providers. This new platform with integrated lecture program aims to establish itself within CeBIT as an industry meeting point for IT experts, marketing specialists, manufacturers and users. No questions left unanswered: Solutions from the world of free software have evolved into an exciting topic with a continually growing demand for information among CeBIT visitors. To meet this demand, 'LinuxPark' in Hall 5 features the very latest trends in the Linux and Open Source environment. In the 'LinuxForum', which will be the main focus of LinuxPark, international experts from the Linux and Open Source industry will discuss their experiences and plans. A particular highlight in 2007 is that the 'LinuxForum' lectures will be transmitted live on the Internet and can also be viewed at a later date. All 'LinuxPark' exhibitors will also have the opportunity to present their products and best practices online. Discovering possibilities: CeBIT 2007 is presenting a new attraction in the Auto ID/RFID sector in Hall 6 entitled 'Auto ID/RFID Solutions Park'. At this event, providers will present a wide range of solutions for the cross-industry use of Auto ID/RFID systems, for example in reselling, logistics, aviation and automotive (logistics processes, maintenance), container management (global location using GPS and Galileo, security management) and the hospital sector (patient care and electronic data history for medicines: 'ePedigree'). Wide-ranging topics with substance: In addition to these current topics, visitors will find a wealth of new offerings and solutions pertaining to 'Information and System Management' in Halls 1 and 3 and 'Enterprise Applications' in Halls 4, 5 and 6, featuring software solutions for logistics and warehousing (supply chain management, enterprise resource planning, merchandise management systems), sales (CRM, call center, help desk) and administration. Innovations in the field of human resources, security and production management, the job and career market, made-to-measure eLearning products, integrated security solutions for protection against spam, viruses and spyware, physical security solutions such as entry control, cryptography, biometrics and card technology will be presented in Halls 6 and 7. Solutions for optimized IT management using outsourcing services will be showcased in Hall 8. In focus: There is greater emphasis on SMEs at CeBIT than ever before - CeBIT will offer a full program of IT and communications solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in Hall 5, featuring interviews, fascinating lectures, and panel discussions alternating daily. The display category consists of a whole host of special events in a total of seven halls - from CeBIT Forum RFID to the Security Software Area - that will make it easy for exhibitors to establish and build contacts with the high-caliber visitors. 'This flair for innovation has certainly helped to establish CeBIT as the most important B2B platform in the world. CeBIT is the only business trade fair to offer an in-depth overview of all the innovative technologies and solutions that can be used to improve process chains. Interest from the international business community is similarly comprehensive - in 2006 alone, 200,000 top decision-makers from some 100 countries attended CeBIT,' stresses Ernst Raue, Member of the Board of Deutsche Messe AG in Hannover.
