CeBit 2008: Funkwerk Dabendorf takes plug & play to the next level at Cebit

Cebit 2008: Premiering the new plug & play hands-free set Ego Cup FM at the CeBIT 2008 Simply slot into the cup holder and dial away. Back in autumn 2007, Funkwerk Dabendorf took the market by surprise with its plug & play hands-free set Ego Cup. Now the Brandenburg specialists are going one better at the CeBIT 2008. Ego Cup FM is the name of the new plug & play solution, which is equipped with a whole host of convenient features such as a built-in rechargeable battery, display and FM transmitter. Thanks to its clever design, the latest innovation to hit the exhibition fits into almost all in-car cup holders. Funkwerk Dabendorf is premiering the Ego Cup FM at this year's CeBIT on Stand F34 in Hall 15.

Once linked, the Ego Cup FM automatically connects to a mobile phone via Bluetooth. A built-in FM transmitter, which can also transmit MP3s from mobile to radio, means calls can either be taken over the integrated speaker or the car speakers, as with professional devices. A free UKW frequency is used, which can be changed at any time via the device's display. The easy-to-read display also shows phone numbers. Thanks to echo and noise reduction, good sound quality is guaranteed even at higher speeds. The built-in rechargeable battery means the Ego Cup FM doesn't have to rely on an external power supply and lasts for seven hours of talk-time and up to two weeks on standby. The battery can be recharged at any time using the battery charger lead for the cigarette lighter.

No installation is necessary for the Ego Cup FM. Once slotted into the in-car cup holder, the device is ready to use. This allows the flexible device to be operated by different users in different vehicles. The stylish piano-like design cuts a fine figure in any vehicle. The device is compatible with the latest Bluetooth mobiles and stores up to eight mobile phones. The Ego Cup FM will be available in stores for less than €100 from early summer on.
