2 Designplus awards for Sanico once again
The German Design Council has awarded both our BONJOUR shower tray and our TRANSIT bathroom fitting with the International First Prize for Design in their DESIGNPLUS 2007.
The jury has granted two prizes to SANICO products in the same year, just as they did in 2005 when the TINA bath and the CITY lavatory won, which makes us especially proud about this new recognition.
This DESIGNPLUS prize is one of the most prestigious that is awarded in the world of international design, not only for the event´s extremely high level of competition, but also for the top quality of the products presented. In the 2007 event, our BONJOUR and TRANSIT series have achieved their awards against the competition of 316 products from 153 companies. In order to guarantee the idea of innovation and the viability of those projects presented, they must have been manufactured and sold over the previous two years. No product that is merely a prototype, or a project that has not been commercialised, may be accepted.
The BONJOUR shower tray was designed by NACHO LAVERNIA & ALBERTO CIENFUEGOS for SANICO and entered in 2005. It can be manufactured in marble or STONEFEEL® which guarantees its amazing durability, and easy maintenance. It is flat, offering not only an aesthetic element, but also an aid to maintaining balance whilst showering. Easy cleaning: the water turns and falls into a duct hidden by a stainless steel drain cover.
The TRANSIT bathroom fitting is also a design of NACHO LAVERNIA & ALBERTO CIENFUEGOS for SANICO and was entered in 2006. It is a series of bathroom fittings - bidets and lavatories - that combine porcelain and STONEFEEL® , a mineral resin, which fuses with porcelain to be converted into a single, solid piece in which each material contributes its qualities: porcelain giving cleanliness and hygiene, and STONEFEEL® its silky finish and ability to form shapes that are almost impossible to achieve in porcelain. Lavatories and bidets, with interiors made of hygienic porcelain, both made in white, cream-coloured, anthracite or cement- coloured STONEFEEL®.
On the occasion of the Frankfurt ISH Fair, all the DESIGNPLUS 2007 prize-winner designs will be displayed in the Foyer of Hall 4.2 from 6th to 10th March, 2007. On 6th March, the official prize winning ceremony will take place in the presence of the members of the jury and many important personalities from the world of architecture and design.
SANICO will also be present at the Fair on Stand C45 in Hall 3.0
