Cosmobelleza-Cosmowellnes’06 doubles its space and shows more than 600 exhibitors
.The 11th edition of Cosmobelleza and the 1st edition of Cosmowellness (covering the Spa and Fitness areas) have been established as the first Exhibition covering all the sectors of the beauty industry worldwide.
.More than 96.000 m2 of space hosted 600 exhibitors and 1.800 brands. Vistors could also attend the presentations of the latest ideas of the professional beauty sector.
The organizers of the exhibition are already working on the 12th edition which will be celebrated on the 10th , 11th and 12th of March 2007. Barcelona Fair in Gran Via (M2) played host on February the 18th , 19th and 20th to the 11th edition of Cosmobelleza which this year have been accompanied by the 1st Cosmowellness Congress. In this way, the International Hairdressing, Aesthetics and Wellness Salon has become the first Exhibition covering all the sectors of the beauty industry worldwide. On Saturday the 18th at 12:00 pm the salon was officially inaugurated. This year more than 96.000 m2 of space were provided. Mr. Miguel Valls, president of the Cambra de Comerç (Trade Chamber) and the town councillor Mrs. Katty Carreras, regidora de Relacions Ciutadanes i Institucionals of Barcelona were present in this event. Around 1.800 brands and more than 600 exhibitors were present in the exhibition, which this year has overcome the number of 150.000 visitors. On Sunday all records were broken as the salon was visited by more than 60.000 people. The event has become internationalized by both: visitors and the companies participating. Around 70% of the exhibitors came from Spanish companies, while the 30% came from companies around the world, such as Bulgary, Poland, Turkey, Rumania, China, Taiwan, Israel, Azerbajan, apart from the European Union countries. BCN Trends’06 CATWALK Another important novelty in this edition, was the BCN Trends ’06, the most important catwalk of South of Europe, an unique area where the most important National hairdressers and the top British stylists showed on stage their hairdressing art in front of more than 1500 spectators. The catwalk was 24 metres long and counted with 20.000 watts of potency and 200 spotlights. On Monday the 20th, the proposals of two great personalities were presented: MAHOGANY with Richard Thompson and Alberto Cerdán. Richard Thompson, president of the Fellowship (top hairdresser’s British Association), moved for the first time to Spain with his team MAHOGANY. They are considered the top team in coloration worldwide and they displayed their show Harlequin, which was based on the combination of darks and lights, and on geometric and asymmetric cuts. The innovative coloration techniques were applauded by a public hungry for knowledge. Thompson enacts trends: “fashion in hairstyles comes from general fashion, it´s a feeling of modernity”. Alberto Cerdán is a well-known hairdresser who lives in Catalonia, Spain, and he is expanding his work worldwide. Alberto Cerdán presented his show “La Mujer de Hielo” (“The Ice Woman”). It was a great performance inspired in Galiano designs and in the haute couture. Mar Saura, TV presenter and model, was his special guest. Mar Saura, is a close friend of the hairdresser and she confirmed her return to TV and was really happy of meeting Alberto Cerdan once more. She applauded his job “magic, different, special and very difficult to achieve” On Saturday the 18th the FAME team (Fellowship Academy Merit and Excelence) presented their work. The FAME Team is the most avant-garde one in Great Britain, it is formed by hairstylists who are chosen every year by the top-hairdressers in Britain. It was the first time they came to Spain and they chose Barcelona to make their début on stage. Sunday was the day of the great brands catwalk. On Sunday morning, Hipertin and the Gemis Team from Valencia showed their latest ideas, after them Salerm and the well-known hairdresser Ramon Cantillana, diplayed spectacular demonstrations of up-dos using wigs and extensions. Emphasis on ethnic themes and great originality. The Marco Aldany show closed the Sunday sessions, he presented an innovative workshop of cuts and colors. Apart from the catwalk, the young talented Spanish hairstylists had the opportunity of showing their techniques on the podium non-stop. Congress and Convention CosmoFitness Apart from the exhibitors area, where more than 100 stands were placed, one of the biggest bets of Cosmowellness’06 was to provide educational training. The first International Convention of Fitness and Guided Activities and the 1st International Congress of Sport Marketing and Management 2006 were included in the programme. These events were pleasantly received by the professionals who valued their quality in a very positive way. The International Convention of Fitness and Guided Activities, which was organized by the Spanish Federation for Fitness and Aerobic (FEDA) and Cosmowellness, counted with the assistance of 500 professionals who could enjoy and learn from the latest trends in Aquatic Fitness, Personal Training, Hip Hop, Pilates, Bossu, Mind-Body, Ciclo Indoor, Indoor Walking, Fitness for children… CosmoFitness 2006 enjoyed with the presence of internationally well-known professionals, such as Toni Stone, Gemma Mengual, Viet Dang, Raúl Cacho, Ariel Enriquez, Diego Dieste, Cristophe Sulom, Fabian Cuenca, Piti Pinsach… The International Convention of Fitness and guided Activities started on the 17th of February and finished on Monday the 20th of February, with a high degree of satisfaction from the visitors side. The Congress of Sport Marketing and Management, which was organized by Wellness & Sport Consulting (G.E.D.O) and Cosmowellness, registered a great success with the assistance of more than 200 professionals. This event counted with the presence of relevant figures coming from USA, Germany, Argentina, England, Mexic, Holland and Spain. Some of the lecturers were Sandro Rosell, Clayton Arhelger, Valerie Folvary, Silvia Collell, Santiago Rodríguez, Claus-Arwed Lauprecht, David J. Miller, Ana Laura Castro y Wouter van Daalen. On Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th a lot of ideas and proposals concerning the actuality of the sector were discussed. They were very intense days with a lot of conclusions coming to the light. Professional workshops The Aesthetics Congress had a special relevance. This Congress supposes an important help for professionals and students, as it allows them to know at first hand the latest ideas and techniques. In this edition, the lectures and workshops were centred on the new massage techniques and the assistants could also learn from the latest ideas on Spa and Coaching. As in other editions, the Congress overcame all the expectations in both, number of visitors and quality of the lectures and workshops. Another activity that was a big success was the 13th edition of the Body-Painting Contest. A novelty was the use of airbrush. The election of the winners was very difficult as the level was very high, all the teams presented their job on stage and showed a high degree of creativity and originality.
