Cosmoprof celebrates 40 years of creativity with a precious publication

Cosmoprof is 40 years old
Cosmoprof turns 40 in 2007: 40 trade fairs that have made history in the beauty industry in Italy and all over the world. Cosmoprof is now an international landmark in the sector, both for companies that have grown to success with its help and for the thousands of international dealers who wander among the fair’s stands and corridors every year in search of opportunities and new developments, innovations and signals of change. In a word: creativity.

A book celebrating creativity
Cosmoprof is celebrating its 40 birthday with a book all about creativity that looks back over the principal events in its history. Right from the start, creativity was the engine that drove Cosmoprof to success, the spirit that pervaded every corner of the event, the common denominator for exhibitors and visitors alike, the attraction that brought hundreds of thousands of people across oceans to Bologna to find out about the future of beauty.

An illustrious name: Thierry de Baschmakoff
Thierry De Baschmakoff, the well-known designer of cosmetics packaging and more, is art director of the book “BELLEZZA - 40 Years of Beauty through the Eyes of Cosmoprof ". This valuable limited edition is inspired by an artistic view of the beauty sector. The book will be unveiled at Cosmoprof on Cosmopack Day, Thursday March 29, the opening day of Cosmopack and halls 16-18 (Selective Perfumery).

The book looks back over 40 years in the history of beauty through 40 portraits of objects, and through the materials that go into objects and give them life: metal, glass, paper, plastic… 40 icons representing the history of creativity in the industry, not presented in strictly chronological order but jumping from one age to another in search of stimulation and emotions. Each item is photographed from an interesting, unusual new perspective to reveal its hidden aspects. All the items come from the International Perfumery Museum in Grasse. Grasse is famous all over the world for its perfumes, and the museum covers 3,000 years in the history of perfumes and the evolution of perfumery techniques.

The story of creativity over the centuries is told not only in pictures but in words too, as key figures from the worlds of perfumery, cosmetics, packaging, design and fashion speak… Each photograph is accompanied and enhanced by their comments and reflections. And so the story of beauty is told through words, pictures and elegant graphics.

Of course there is space for the history of Cosmoprof, once again told in pictures: above all, the different logos and advertising campaigns that have marked the milestones in the event’s growth and evolution in line with changes in the sectors it represents.

The book “BELLEZZA - 40 Years of Beauty through the Eyes of Cosmoprof” will be presented during the COSMOPACK PRESS CONFERENCE, Thursday 29 March, Palazzo Congressi, Room Italia, 11.00 a.m.
