FIMI 63 Ed. : the fresh breeze of children´s fashion

FIMI, the International Fair of Children’s and Young People’s Fashion, is holding its 63rd event from 23rd to 25th June 2006. With around 300 exhibiting companies, this world-class trade show includes all the new introductions for the 2007 Spring-Summer season. And this edition is located in the new more spacious and comfortable Level 2 on the new Pavilions 1 and 2.

Brands specializing in beachwear and special wear, taking part exclusively in summer editions, are presenting their latest collections in Pavilion 2.

Many of these new collections will also go on view on the catwalk in Pasarela FIMI, a leading showcase for children’s fashion. The brands taking part in the show are: Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Bóboli, Lourdes, Pan con Chocolate, Pif by Nuria Aymerich, Rubio Kids, Schuss, Tuc Tuc, Victorio & Lucchino, as well as beachwear brands DC Kids, Marina Hernández and Mariona Barnils.

“Let the Wind Blow” is the concept for 2007 Summer season fashion trends. It’s going to be a summer full of parties, the beach and sailing. Three winds that bring with them other ways of seeing and other ways of dressing. Three stories with the name of winds: Monsoon, Northerly Wind and Sirocco.

A fresh, tender ambience prevails in Monsoon with ultramodern primitivism and places of calm suggesting the garden of Eden. In colours, we find energetic harmony in bright primaries. Colour is an emotion waiting to be experienced. Sea green. Caribbean. Calm blue. Sand. Curry. Fuchsia.

In Northerly Wind, classics are given an innovative twist with a remix of “authentics”, vintage sports, golf and sailing, preppy snob. We’ll see less differentiation between masculine and feminine. Pure, renewed colour. Fresh pastels.

Lemon. Bubblegum. Sky. Turquoise. Green. Marine. White.

The last of the three proposals, Sirocco, is defined by a “Bio” movement and a commitment with the environment, references to the countryside, animals, flowers and fantasy. Mimetic, dusted colour, always with an underlying white accent. Minimal white. Black. Dust. Pepper. Fresh green. Water.

On another note, children’s fashion is progressing at a steady pace. In 2004, the last year for official figures, most companies in this sector increased their turnover by an average 10.89%, with a specially positive performance in exports, which grew by 19.57%. Finally, Italy continues to be the major importer of Spanish children’s fashion.
