Kirstin Deutelmoser new GLS Project

Director Armin Stader retires Kirstin Deutelmoser, who has been project director for GDS – International Event for Shoes since October 2005 and for global shoes & accessories, launched in March 2006, has now added GLS – International Event for Leather Goods & More to her list of project direction duties as of 1 May

With this, Armin Stader hands off the baton to Kirstin Deutelmoser. Stader left Messe Düsseldorf on 30 April due to age after more than three decades with the company. He will, however, remain active as a consultant.
"Armin Stader truly earned his retirement, especially after what he did for GDS, which he managed for almost three decades. He also did substantial legwork and market research for GLS," explained the division director responsible for GDS/GLS, Frank Hartmann. "With Kirstin Deutelmoser we have a successor on board who will further develop both themes. She has already impressively demonstrated her skills with GDS." The industry clearly expressed the desire to further meld the two trade fairs GDS and GLS and to better integrate the leather fair in the hall layout of the shoe fair, Hartmann continued. The integrated concept already worked very well in September and March; by consolidating the project management, the potential of GDS/GLS can be even better utilized. Armin Stader (65) looks back on a career with Messe Düsseldorf that began more than 35 years ago as press officer for GDS. From 1974 to 1998, he carried the overall responsibility as project director for the world-leading shoe trade fair. In these years he significantly advanced the internationality of the event. With his experience in the trade fair business and his competence in fashion, shoes and leather goods, he was also able to considerably develop the young leather goods trade fair GLS in the years since 2005. Other Messe Düsseldorf projects that were fundamentally influenced by Stader include REHACARE, iba, A+A, METEC, hogatec and INTERKAMA.
Kirstin Deutelmoser (41) came to Messe Düsseldorf in October 2005 as GDS project director and has already taken significant steps toward a new alignment of the central ordering and information platform. Recently, the "white cubes" area made waves in the industry. In the five previous years she made a name for herself as project manager of BODY LOOK at Leipziger Messe GmbH, among other activities. Before that, Kirstin Deutelmoser was a senior consultant with the Glasmeier & Partner management consultancy and a marketing consultant with Breuninger GmbH, both in Stuttgart.
