Success in terms of public attendance and commercial results at Habitalia 2006
Companies have made a considerable effort to present the latest home decoration trends to more than 41,000 visitors
The Home Exhibition, HABITALIA 2006, concluded its third edition with considerable success in terms of public attendance and commercial results. The fair took place between 4th and 12th November 2006 at the Feria de Madrid facilities. Products and service presented by 82 exhibiting companies were shown to the 41,307 visitors who attended the exhibition. In view of these results, both representatives of IFEMA, in their capacity as the event's organisers, as well as representatives of the Association of Furniture Trade Businessmen of the Madrid Region, ASEMCOM, the event's promoter, were highly satisfied. The same promising conclusion can be drawn from the surveys carried out by IFEMA throughout the duration of HABITALIA 2006. In this respect, the participating companies revealed their satisfaction at the commercial results they achieved, whilst members of the public were impressed by the high quality of the products and services on show. In effect, the exhibiting companies made a considerable effort to present their very best ideas, lines and designs for home decoration to the general public. For its part, the public was able to visit an extensive selection of products at a single venue over a period of nine days (including two weekends and a public holiday) based on a generous timetable. Visitors thus had every opportunity to make their purchases. The convenience of staging a fair of this kind was confirmed, this being the only Spanish furniture exhibition that opens its doors to end consumers. In this sense, members of the public are provided with excellent professional guidance regarding their purchases. At the same time, the participating home decoration shops have an excellent opportunity at HABITALIA to boost their sales during the second half of the year. At HABITALIA 2006, the companies belonging to ASEMCOM presented an entire range of products suitable for all budgets, including practical ideas in home furnishings, kitchenware, carpets, tapestries, curtains, fabrics, blinds, lighting equipment, decorative items and related products. In short, this event represents an excellent means of enabling the industry to boost its average furniture sales figure. In this respect, the Spanish Furniture Market Observatory, a body run by the Technological Institute for Furniture, Wood, Packaging and Related Products, AIDIMA, calculates average furniture expenditure among Spanish families to be 2,168 euros a year. In view of the excellent results of this edition, the organisers of the Home Exhibition, HABITALIA, are already working on preparations for the next edition of the event, the third edition, which is due to take place in Autumn 2007.
