SCHMIDT® Flow Sensor Releases 2007

SCHMIDT® Flow Sensor Family SS 30.300

SCHMIDT Technology presents a completely new family of Inline flow sensors. This is a significant improvement of the SCHMIDT programme of flow sensors which previously consisted of immer-sion type flow sensors. Inline flow sensor means, that these sensors come with their own measur-ing pipe thus giving direct display of the volume flow. Contrary to immersion sensors the inline sensors simplify the mounting, reduce the influence of mounting tolerances and the measuring pipe is part of the adjustment process. This new product family consists of 4 sensor models in pipe sizes of ½, 1, 1 ½ and 2 inch. Actual volume flow, totalized volume flow and media temperature can be interrogated from the internal LED display. Two keys allow to configure the functions of the sensor. Output 1 may be configured as switching output or analog output, output 2 may be used as pulse output or second switching output. The new sensors are available from February Febru-ary 2007.

Applications:
compressed-air consumption measurements, volume flow measurements in test benches, flow measurements in nitrogen or other passivation gases, flow measurements in process gases.

SCHMIDT® Flow Sensor SS 20.60 FB / High-speed sensor with 200 m/s ( 39.370 sfpm)

SCHMIDT has brought to market a new generation of the well-proven family of air and gas flow sensors SS 20.60 with very special properties: Measuring range 200 m/s, turn-down ratio 1 to 1000, calibration accuracy 1 % of measuring value, sensor tip with high media resistance, avail-able with analog interface or Profibus-DP or Device-Net interface. The high precision and extreme turn-down ratio could be achieved due to an improved electronic design and the new and unique SCHMIDT pressure wind tunnel. The modular concept allows to select between analog interface or field bus interface. The sensor with filed bus interface delivers ready prepared measuring values like Kg/hr or m3/min and thus disburdens the supervising PLC. Additionally the sensor gives ac-cess to it´s status information and allows the PLC to inform the user about defects of the sensor. Despite of the enhanced electronic and additional connectors the size of the sensor remained very compact and makes this sensor to one of the most compact flow sensor on the market. The new sensor is available from now on.

Applications:
compressed-air consumption measurements, volume flow measurements in nitrogen or other passivation gases, volume flow measurements in process gases, volume flow measurements in test benches, mass-flow control in combustion processes, flow measurements of air injection noz-zles, air velocity measurements in dryers or sprayers.

Technical data:
Design: immersion sensor with attached transformer
Application: tubes from 25 to 1.000 mm ( 1 to 40 inch)
Measuring range up to 200 m/s (39.370 sfpm)
Media: air, nitrogen, CO2 and other gases
Pressure: up to 16 bar o.p. (230 psig)
Mounting, : ½ inch throughpassage,
Analog output: 0..10V, 0/4 .. 20 mA
Pulse output: 10 bis 100 Hz

Available field bus interfaces: Profibus DP, Device Net.

SCHMIDT® Flow Switch SS 20.260

Under the name SS 20.260 SCHMIDT Technology offers a new flow sensor which is robust and very compact. It´s measuring range of 20 m/s and linear analog output identify him as universal sensor for measurements of air velocity, volume flow and mass flow in a lot of applications. The sensor is robust due to a chamber in which the sensing element is protected against impacts. The stainless steel sensor tube is available in different length and thus can be placed at the correct po-sition regardless of the size of the duct. Two LED's indicate the correct operation or inform about wrong supply voltage or sensor defects.
