Horeq: Improve the use of energy consumption in the hotel business
The Good Practices for the Usage of Energy Manual is presented at Horeq 2007. Tools as the Guide for rest systems and electronical invoices optimization, all of them focused on getting the best usage of energetic and administrative resources.
Cost Savings and Better Energy Practices
More than two million electronic invoices are issued in Spain each month. This mechanism is used by nearly 4,500 companies throughout the country. The Electronic invoicing entails a 60% saving in overall administrative costs and a timesaving of more than 70% with regard to the management process for each invoice. This project, designed by ITH, SEGITUR and Do On Time, aims to support the hotel industry under the heading of invoice reception and dispatch through the Bizlayer platform. This platform enjoys maxim security levels and legal guarantees, offering signature delegation services to the issuing party and validation services to the beneficiary. These invoice are signed by means of a certificate recognised by the Royal Spanish Mint ("Real Casa de la Moneda").
Another of the projects that will be on show at the fair reveals a strong sense of social concern for the environment. This consists of the Good Energy Practices Manual, which will help Canary Islands hotels to reduce their costs, fulfil the applicable legislation and enhance their corporate image.
The Rest Systems Guide will focus on the external aspects that affect quality of sleep from the perspective of hotel guests (mobility, temperature, humidity, noise, materials) and define those factors that may come into play in the case of each guest (allergies, breathing problems, etc.), thus enabling hotels to improve their products and services. Finally, AccesHotel will study the feasibility of developing a management tool for optimising accessibility, as well as proposing a universal design for the hotel trade that will enable hotels to improve the customer service they provide to persons suffering from all kinds of disabilities and to the elderly
