IMT: every second exhibitor will be from abroad
The 5th International Machine Tools Exhibition IMT will be the largest in its history, both as far as the number of its exhibitors and the rented exhibition area are concerned.
As the participation of Czech manufacturers and suppliers used to amount to almost 100 % in the past, the increase is thanks to foreign exhibitors whose proportion has grown to 49 %. A total of 500 companies from 21 countries have been registered which will occupy the net exhibition space of 18 000 m2 in Halls V, F and B.
“German firms markedly prevail among foreign participants in IMT, i.e. 120 followed by Italian and Slovak exhibitors (Slovakia has enormously increased its participation). For the first time a group of Spanish firms at the head with the National Professional Union AFM will attend IMT, however, newcomers will also be from France, Switzerland, Italy, China or India,” stated Director of MSV Commercial Group, BVV Trade Fairs Brno, Jiří Rousek.
The IMT Exhibition is supported by the European Committee for Cooperation in Machine Tools and Forming Machines CECIMO and its co-organizer is the Union of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Engineering Technology. As for foreign professional unions, also Russian Stankoinstrument, Union of Slovak Engineering Industry and Korean Association of Engineering Industry KOAMI will come to Brno besides the above mentioned Spanish AFM.
From the point of view of the represented branches, the 5th IMT will boast of an increased presentation of more than 300 exhibitors. Tens of novelties have been announced, in particular among centre lathes, turning automatic machines, machining centers, milling machines, band and disk saws and presses. Not even innovations of laser measuring instruments, digital testers, CAD/CAM systems and precision tools will be missing. New exhibits will be displayed by firms such as Kovosvit, Tajmac-ZPS Zlín. TOS Kuřim, Strojírna (Engineering Works) TYC, Swisstool Export-Gruppe, Trens Trenčín, Erwin Junker and others.
