Iberflora, Euroagro and Eurobrico registered over 31.000 trade visitors
Foreign buyers up by 34%
The international fairs IBERFLORA, EUROAGRO and EUROBRICO, held concurrently in Feria Valencia from 19th to 21st October 2005, welcomed over 31,000 trade visitors. Holding the three events at the same time attracted a total of 900 direct exhibitors, in turn producing the largest commercial product offer of plants and flowers, horticultural technology, fruits and vegetables, and garden and DIY products. The pulling power of IBERFLORA, EUROAGRO and EUROBRICO in international markets, and their success as forums for closing deals, were more than evident in this latest edition with a big increase in international buyers, an impressive 34% more than the previous year. The event saw lots of return trade professionals from European markets including Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Portugal. There was also a strong contingent of Latin American buyers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. The promotional campaign carried out by IBERFLORA and EUROAGRO in Middle Eastern and North African countries also brought a significant influx of buyers from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Finally, a special mention is deserved for the many new visitors from Australia, China and the US. EUROBRICO organized three Seminars on DIY Distribution, with the direct participation of Europe?s main distribution channels (ATB, AFEB, ADFB, BAUHAUS, BRICOALIANCE, COFAC, COFERDROZA, COINFER, HABITACLE and LEROY MERLIN), apart from a debate between manufacturers and distributors on common points of interest and concern. IBERFLORA hosted a total of 568 direct exhibitors, 22% of whom came from outside Spain. These included a major presence of Italian companies from Sicily, the Region of Lazio, and the province of Pistoia, as well as from other leading producing areas in Italy. The Italian interest in IBERFLORA is good proof of the fair?s good name in countries on the Mediterranean Arc, positioning it as Europe?s number one fair in ornamental plants. EUROAGRO organized the Al-Invest cooperation forum, which was very well received. Around one hundred European and Latin American companies met at Al-Invest to discuss how to take advantage of the differences in climate between the two hemispheres and how to supply the European market with fruit and vegetable produce throughout the whole year.
