From January 25 to 30, 2007, MAISON&OBJET and PLANÈTE MEUBLE PARIS were the major events, with the finest international and top-of-the-range offer on the decoration, furniture, design and upholstery markets. The success of this 2007 session, presenting a general vision of the decorative arts linked to the home and revolving around a strong creative expression, clearly demonstrates the vitality of Paris, an essential creative and major economic venue.

For the first time, the threshold of 50,000 French visitors was reached and even exceeded (+ 4%). The share of international visitors reached 39% with 32,161 buyers. More than 66.7% of buyers came from the European Union with a strong rise in Italian visitors noticeable in the aisles of the exhibition and confirmed by the figures: + 45% with 5,333 visitors. The United Kingdom is ranked second for the first time with a 14% increase, i.e. 3,230 visitors. There was also a significant increase in Spanish visitors, + 23% (2,079) and Irish visitors, + 35% (580) and in visitors from Scandinavia (Denmark + 11%, Finland + 21%, Norway + 16% and Sweden + 41%) who are increasingly turning towards France to the detriment of Germany. Russia is not to be outdone and the emergence of the middle class and a very rich class interested in decoration and design is confirmed. Russia is ranked for the first time in the top ten countries sending visitors to the exhibition.
