Matelec 2008: Matelec y Facel renew their agreement.
Matelec 2008: Matelec will be held at Feria de Madrid, between 28th October and 1st November 2008.
The Spanish Association of Cable, Insulated Electrical Conductor and Fibre Optics Manufacturers, FACEL, renewed its collaboration agreement with MATELEC'08, the International Exhibition of Electrical and Electronic Equipment, last Monday 18th February.
This measure forms part of the general process of renewing agreements with the various trade associations that take part at the fair.
The agreement was signed at Feria de Madrid by the Managing Director of Ifema, Fermín Lucas, and the President of Facel, Francesc Asín. They were accompanied by the General Secretary of Facel, Alejandro Saenger, and the Head of Matelec'08, Alfonso de Borbón.
The cable, conductor and fibre optics industry is closely linked to the International Exhibition of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and accounts for a high level of business representation at the fair. Facel, a business association founded back in 1978, incorporates almost 40 member companies and seeks to promote the interests of the cable market.
Cables, electrical conductors and fibre optics achieved some favourable results overall throughout the year 2006. In particular, pending the results corresponding to the year 2007, higher levels of activity were witnessed within the energy cable segment, whilst enamelled wire maintained reasonable levels of growth, based on a certain improvement within the auxiliary motor industry. For their part, standards for data and instrumentation cables witnessed an increase in technical standards, coinciding with an increase in demand. Finally, telecommunications cables witnessed a certain upturn, following the slump that began in the year 2002, which lasted up until the year 2004.
