Promogift 2006 consolidates its position on the trade fair calendar
This edition presented a larger international dimension and was visited by some 5,549 professionals.
The Promotional Gift Trade Fair, PROMOGIFT 2006, which staged its second edition on 30th August and 1st September last at Feria de Madrid, has consolidated its role as the best trade showcase for the industry before the commencement of the Christmas campaign. The visitor figures confirmed the favourable expectations that had been generated as a result of an excellent response on the part of the industry. The most striking note at this edition of the fair was its growing international dimension. In effect, PROMOGIFT 2006 outperformed the previous edition in all areas. Specifically, it welcomed some 5,549 visitors, compared to 4,738 recorded at the first edition in the year 2005. The number of participating companies came to 3,165 (well above the 2,631 recorded last year). These figures are substantial when we bear in mind that the fair's visitor profile encompasses a highly specific group limited to promotional gift professionals and other members of this sector. With regard to the place of origin of these professionals, they attended the fair from all over Spain, with the largest numbers, in order of importance, coming from the Region of Madrid, Andalusia, Catalonia, the Valencian Region, Castile-La Mancha, Castile-Leon and Galicia. With regard to the international dimension of the event, we might highlight the fact that the number of foreign companies attending the fair increased by 2 per cent compared to the year 2005, accounting for 10 per cent of the total number of visiting companies at PROMOGIFT. Visiting companies from 16 new countries were recorded compared to last year, achieving a total of 33 different nations. In this respect, in spite of the fact that the duration of the event is quite short, one of its most striking characteristics is the important role that the international participants are beginning to play at the fair, based on the attendance of some 22 foreign exhibiting companies (compared to just 8 in the year 2005), from 21 countries. PROMOGIFT 2006 hosted the attendance of a total of 182 direct exhibitors in Hall 9 at Feria de Madrid, featuring a net exhibition area measuring some 8,923 square metres. These figures, combined with the high stature and strict professionalism of the event, not to mention the innovative and high-quality exhibition and the backing of the main business associations within this economic segment (The Association of Importers, Wholesalers and Manufacturers of Promotional Items, AIMFAP, and the Association of Manufacturers and Sellers of Promotional Items, FYVAR), provide the best guarantee that this event has a bright future before it. Furthermore, the fair is entirely coordinated with regard to the other leading fair for the segment in Spain, EXPORECLAM (which caters for the summer sales campaign) and this event's organiser, Reed Exhibition Iberia. In this respect, PROMOGIFT has once again confirmed its status as a leading promotional forum and an excellent centre for business, one where companies are able to present their latest and most innovative products. IFEMA, the body that organises the Promotional Gift Trade Fair, PROMOGIFT 2007, is already preparing for its next edition, which will be staged between 3rd and 5th September 2007, at Feria de Madrid.
