International Gift, Jewellery and Fashion Jewellery Week welcomed some 83,902 visiting professionals

Between 12th and 16th January, FERIA DE MADRID hosted the staging of the 50th edition of International Gift, Jewellery and Fashion Jewellery Week, a spectacular event that brought together the products and services of some 2,200 direct exhibitors in an exhibition area measuring more than 103,000 square metres, thus presenting the most comprehensive showcase for products and new features from the consumer goods and household equipment industry. This trade event, organised by IFEMA and established on the European fair calendar as one of the leading trade events for the industry, welcomed some 83,902 buyers, a figure that once again confirms the Week's role as an ideal business forum and point of reference for the latest international trends.

In the breakdown of the figures regarding the number of visitors who attended each fair, the organizers have taken into account the high degree of overlap that exists between INTERGIFT, the International Gift Fair, and BISUTEX, the Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Trade Fair. These two fairs, which share distribution channels and present a mutual trade interest of more than 84%, recorded the attendance of some 62,551 buyers. In the case of IBERJOYA, some 21,351 visitors were recorded, of whom more than 50% were also interested in INTERGIFT and BISUTEX.

Another interesting aspect was the strong attendance on the part of the representatives of international supply and demand at INTERGIFT and BISUTEX, as a result of the proven capacity of these fairs to serve as a means of making contact with the Spanish market. Furthermore, we might highlight the promotional campaigns that IFEMA has been implementing in collaboration with its delegations abroad and its Trade Office experts, not to mention the International Buyers Programme. In this respect, the direct participation of foreign companies increased by 57% in the case of INTERGIFT and by 70% in the case of BISUTEX. The attendance of nearly 4,000 buyers, mainly from Spain's neighbouring countries such as Portugal, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, not to mention those of Eastern Europe, the United States, South-East Asia and Latin America, provided an effective tool for supporting exports from the industry and for placing Spanish products in shop-windows throughout the world.
