The fair reflected the upturn within the clothes manufacturing industry, as witnessed by the considerable trade activity recorded throughout the event's three-day duration.

The 56th edition of the Madrid International Fashion Fair (SIMM), achieved some favourable results, consolidating the event's status as the second most important clothing trade fair in Europe. Organized by IFEMA at Feria de Madrid, intensive trade contacts were established throughout the fair's three-day duration, especially at an international level, which reflects the fact that the fashion and clothing industry is enjoying something of a recovery.
This new edition of SIMM witnessed a significant increase in the number of buyers, compared to the same edition last year. In short, a total of 19,382 visitors were recorded, which represents an increase compared to the September 2005 edition. We might highlight the strong increase in the number of foreign professionals, whose attendance grew by 20 per cent, in the form of nearly 2,000 foreign buyers. The countries that witnessed the strongest growth in terms of their participation included Argentina, Australia, the Czech Republic, Ecuador, the United States, Italy, Lithuania, Paraguay and Russia, which all tripled the number of buyers they sent to SIMM. The number of professionals who attended the fair from Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland and Uruguay doubled.
High-Quality Fashion.
Quality, design and innovation are the characteristics that best define the fashion ideas brought together at the last edition of SIMM. In total, the exhibition featured some 1,440 men's clothing, women's clothing, lingerie, swimwear and accessory collections for next Spring-Summer 2007 Season, presented by 877 companies, of which 221 were foreign. The net exhibition area came to around 32,000 square metres, distributed throughout Halls 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 at Feria de Madrid.

A special section within the fair was occupied by the Artistic Association of National Fashion Designers from Spain (ADÑ), whose official presentation took place on the first day of SIMM. Made up of a number of well-known names within the field of fashion in Spain, such as Antonio Alvarado, Ion Fiz, Locking Shocking, Carlos Díez, Juanjo Oliva, Rocabert, Carmen March and La Casita de Wendy, ADÑ presented its members' collections in a joint section within the fair.
