Stuart Weitzman opts to exhibit at ‚white cubes’ - contemporary shoe design at GDS
New Registrations from Top International Designer Brands
The new premium area at GDS continues to attract the attention of internationally renowned brands. Now registering in the ‚white cubes’ area are new top designer brands like ‘Stuart Weitzman’ with his collection of the same name and ‘Massimo Bonini showroom’ with the following labels: Etro Shoes, Kallisté, Michel Perry, Missoni, Neil Barrett, Puma by Neil Barrett and SEBASTIAN.
“We have apparently struck quite a nerve with ‚white cubes’. With 72 brands here we are almost fully booked. Visitors can look forward to many more trendy new brands,“ said a delighted Kirstin Deutelmoser, Project Director at GDS. New brands already registered for the ‚white cubes’ area also include the likes of Alima, Amaterasu, Argila, Augusta/Elen Wagner, Buttero, Castaner, Cinque, DÉBUT, Duccio del Duca, JFK, Joy Harper, MARC by MARC JACOBS, Mariana Méndez, NOW, Pollini, Repetto, Sequoia Paris, Swissoccoli and Yin. Stuart Weitzman glitters with international presence, an unmistakeable aura and constantly rising demand. With sales of over 1.5 million pairs of shoes and continual shop openings throughout the world the label is enjoying ever increasing consumer awareness levels. The wide range of elegant women’s shoes and bag creations plus exceptional footwear for the evening from this famous New York designer are as much a selling point for the brand as its good fit and wear comfort. Missoni and Etro Shoes are two of the exclusive Italian brands able to stylishly combine such a wide spectrum of fashion colours like almost no other. Etro selects its season’s colours from a choice of thousand of nuances. One collection at Missoni comprises up to 40 colour tones; the different high-quality materials multiply this colour effect. Already working as Senior Menswear Designer at Gucci and as Design Director for Prada Menswear British fashion designer Neil Barrett is now featured at ‘white cubes’ – both with his brand of the same name and with Puma by Neil Barrett. His collaboration with Puma comprises numerous exciting elements: including the winners’ kit for the Italian national squad at the 2006 World Cup. Called into existence 40 years ago the brand SEBASTIAN is one of the unchallenged leaders in the shoe manufacturing elite. Its new collection blends top-fashion design with high quality and great attention to detail. Each in their own special way, the two French labels Michel Perry and Kallisté are synonymous with eye-catching femininity and exclusivity. Facts & Figures on GDS: Around 1,300 exhibitors from approx. 45 nations and some 32,000 visitors from over 70 countries are expected in Düsseldorf for the next GDS – The Premier Shoe Event. All market segments key to the world footwear market – from Premium and Young Fashion through to Big Volume – will be covered here at the fair.
