UFI continues its support for International Fair Plovdiv
In his letter to the Executive Director of International Fair – Plovdiv, Mr. Yordan Radev, the President of UFI, Mr. Tom Beyer, says: “I’m happy that our organization is a partner of International Fair – Plovdiv in the 10th anniversary edition of the International Fair Poster Competition.
According to the opinion of the UFI President, the two institutions have managed to increase the level of understanding and estimation of the fair poster as a contemporary art form, both in business and graphic aspects.
Mr. Tom Beyer says also in his letter: “I’m absolutely sure that the International Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) will continue its support for this international competition in co-ordination of your fair organization”.
In the 10th edition of the International Fair Poster Competition that was held from 5-11 June 2006 within the framework of the Art Fair IMPRESSIA 2006, the grand award in the category “Generic Promotion Poster” was given to Messe Berlin for the poster “Messe Berlin - Everybody’s Here”.
The total number of the fair posters was 156 and forty fair organizations from 24 countries and 4 continents: Europe, Asia, South and Northern America presented their posters at the competition.
The posters were estimated by a jury, consisting of: Mr. Vincent Gerard – Managing Director of UFI, Mrs. Lili Eigl – Communications Manager of UFI, Prof. Bozhidar Yonov – Rector of the National Academy of Arts, Graphic Designer, Mr. Alexander Radoslavov – Chairman of the Graphic Design Section of the Union of the Bulgarian Artists and Executive Director of IZA Art Copyright Protection Agency, Mr. Vasil Nikolov - Graphic Designer, Mrs. Maria Todorova – Director Corporate Communications, International Fair – Plovdiv.
The fair poster “INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR 2006” of the Exhibition Centre Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, was the grand award winner in the category “Exhibition Event Poster” at the 10th edition of the Fair Poster Competition that is the only one of its kind worldwide. The Fair Poster Competition is organized in Plovdiv, in co-operation with UFI.
