Veteco 2008: Veteco, he dynamic window industry will present its products and services from May 6th to 9th May at Feria de Madri
Veteco 2008: With still four months to go before the fair itself, VETECO '08, the International Window, Curtain Walls and Structural Glass Trade Show, has achieved its marketing objectives, surpassing the most optimistic forecasts. In spite of the fact that this eleventh edition has been endowed with a larger exhibition area, precisely in order to cater for the predicted increase in demand, all of the space available has been contracted by exhibitors.
One of the most outstanding aspects of the event will once again be the significant level of foreign participation. In this respect, this fair, which is the largest European event devoted specifically to the industry, will once again provide the best trade forum for the launch of new features and a key business forum for the Spanish industry, which is one of the strongest in Europe. Furthermore, businessmen within the industry are optimistic about their prospects in view of the introduction of the new Technical Building Code (CTE). This fair will take place between 6th and 9th May next at Feria de Madrid.
This favourable outlook has been confirmed by the results achieved to date, which surpass all of the most optimistic predictions made by IFEMA, the body that organises Veteco. Thus, the fair has confirmed the attendance of some 678 companies. These participants have contracted a total net exhibition area measuring 52,748 square metres, which represents an increase of 15.7 per cent compared to the event's last edition in the year 2006. That is to say, the fair has sold practically all of the space available at this edition. In fact, in spite of the increase in the amount of exhibition space, numerous companies have been added to the waiting-list for future participation.
It was precisely to cater for this growth and the development of the fair itself, that the organisers of this edition set side a larger exhibition space. Specifically,'08 will occupy Halls 2, 4, 6 and 8, as well as the new Halls 12 and 14. Hall 12, which is entirely diaphanous, and Hall 14 with its two floors, offer all kinds of facilities, including direct access to the exterior and connecting areas that link them to the rest of the fair. In short, on this occasion the fair will present a gross exhibition area measuring 98,600 square metres, which represents an increase of 23.32 per cent compared to two years ago.
The excellent positioning that Veteco enjoys on the European fair circuit has once again been confirmed thanks to these high participation figures, with foreign participation once again featuring prominently. Thus, on this occasion, a total of 63 direct exhibitors from abroad have confirmed their attendance, travelling to the fair from 17 countries. In order of importance, we might highlight the participants from Italy, Germany and Portugal, in particular.
These commercial results, which represent a new record in the history of Veteco, reflect the optimistic climate that exists within the industry. According to sources at ASEFAVE, the Spanish Association of Window and Light Façade Manufacturers, the imminent introduction of the new Technical Building Code (CTE) and the subsequent raising of quality standards, not to mention the growing importance of renovation within this field, will all provide a significant boost to the industry.
. Trade Activities and Conferences
In addition, the organisers of Veteco are preparing a Conference and Activities Programme that will be staged to complement the trade activity that takes place within the framework of the fair.
As part of this intensive programme, we might mention the Forum on High-Rise Architecture, organised by Grupo Vía, which is due to take place on 8th May at the North Convention Centre at Feria de Madrid. This will consist of a national meeting of architects, building professionals and companies linked to the new generation of high-rise buildings in Spain. The purpose of the event will be to discuss some twenty different cases, including the four CTBA Towers in Madrid, the Forum Towers and those of Plaza de Europa in L'Hospitalet in Barcelona.
This conference will involve a debate and result in a number of conclusions among professionals from the worlds of architecture and construction and all other parties involved in the building process.
