Vicenza Oro Winter continues to shine
The Vicenza international gold and jewellery exhibition which closed some weeks ago sees its success confirmed also by the words of its exhibitors.
Positive results were obtained and companies are now looking forward to a repeat performance at VICENZAORO spring: “At VICENZAORO winter”, said Mario Petroncelli from Ponte Vecchio Gioielli in Florence, “we brought back our butterfly collection, designed specifically for the Arab and Russian markets, and also showed our famosi collection, which features large coloured stones cut in the same way as the world’s most famous diamonds. The results came in because we got good feedback from foreign operators, to the extent that we also saw large groups of buyers at the fair who decided to buy Italian products. The Italian market is changing mentality, meaning results are coming in for those who are adapting.” Colour both for stones and for gold in the winter collections by Piero Milano from San Salvatore Monferrato, described by Andrea Milano: “Like all the January editions, we saw better attendance by foreign buyers. For us it was a good fair, hot on the heels of a not-so-good period.” In the opinion of Andrea Visconti of Giorgio Visconti in Valenza, “the market this year is finally showing signs of life. 2006 closed on a positive note and the first figures from 2007 confirm this trend. Clients are starting to place repeat orders for articles they have already sold. For me the January fair was important for oriental markets (from eastern Europe to Asia).” Again from Valenza, Emiliana Capiaglio, foreign sales manager for Luca Carati, confirms, “the positive trend of the fair. We mainly work to appointment: we have therefore had purchases confirmed and also new clients, attracted by our window displays, which we always try to give big appeal. Russian, Arab, American and Japanese clients liked our new collections where unusual use is made of blue sapphires combined with blue rhodium-plated gold or pink gold combined with diamonds and white gold. Finally, yet more positive comments from Leo Pizzo, owner of the company of the same name in Piedmont, which at VICENZAORO winter showcased jewels with a wealth of stones set into pink gold. “Our clients want to stand out and having an important jewel makes you feel important”, he explains. “We have had a good start to 2007 and saw numerous clients on our stand.” Satisfaction also for Marta Muraro from Comete Gioielli in Creazzo - Vicenza: “VICENZORO winter proved to be a lively fair with good attendance – above all by foreign buyers – a constant flow of visitors even on weekdays. Our products this year target an audience that is more sensitive to romanticism, through rings and earrings decorated with colourful stones. This also applies to the male range with bracelets in steel or dyed leather.” The next appointment for international jewellery and gold is therefore scheduled from 12 to 16 May 2007, with the opening of VICENZAORO spring.
